Conference Reminder: Reception Deadline Approaching

In less than a month, roughly 900 folks will convene in Seattle for the Alliance’s 2013 National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness. With record registration numbers (for the first time ever, capacity constraints forced us to close registration early) we at the Alliance are thrilled to see so many motivated advocates join together to make change happen!

For those of us who work in the homeless assistance field, networking is extremely important. It allows us to further collaborations and share strategies and solutions. With that in mind, I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage those of you who will be attending the conference to join us at the Alliance’s special reception on Thursday evening, February 21.

The conference’s premiere sponsor, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will be hosting the reception at its state-of-the-art LEED-certified building. Conference attendees who register for the reception can read more about what they can expect to experience (including the Seattle Monorail, and the Seattle Space Needle) in my November blog post: Sleepless in Seattle (Because There’s So Much to See).

If you want to attend the reception (And why wouldn’t you?) please note that separate registration for the reception is required. If you haven’t registered for the reception yet, please take a look at the confirmation email that you received upon registering for the conference. That email contains instructions on how to register for the reception.

Remember, only people who have already registered for the conference will be able to register for the reception. Registration for the reception will close on Thursday, February 14. So make sure to register as soon as possible! If you have trouble locating your conference confirmation email, please contact me, the Alliance’s Director for Meetings and Events D’Arcy Klingle.
