The Alliance is in Seattle!

The Alliance DC headquarters is empty, or nearly so. Right now, on the floor where I work, there are only two other members of staff besides me, and they will be leaving soon too. Many of the Alliance staff are already in Seattle, and I will be joining them early tomorrow morning to help with our 2013 National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness. It will be my second conference with the Alliance, and I’m very excited to meet everyone (and very excited to see Seattle for the first time).

I’d just like to remind everyone who may want to contact Alliance staff during the conference that, since we will be working remotely on Thursday, February 21, and Friday, February 22, we will have limited access to our email and phones. During the conference, we will be checking email and voicemail periodically, but we will likely be extremely busy and may be unable to get back to you until after the conference is over (but we WILL get back to you, so please leave a voicemail, if you call).

For those of you who will be at the conference with us, we can’t wait to see you! It’s going to be a great experience. Organizing our national conferences is hard work, but we love doing it. We’ve lined up an impressive array of speakers, and we’ve worked hard to make sure that you have plenty of workshops on some extremely important topics to attend. It’s going to be a very informative two days. Just check out the program journal for a look at what we have in store for you.

Lastly, during the conference we will be updating our Alliance blog with conference information and conference photos, and we will be Tweeting about the conference on Twitter. We want you to get involved! Don’t be shy about sharing with us on our social media. Post on our Facebook wall, and Tweet about the conference using the hashtag #NAEH13. We want to hear from you!

Anyway, that’s about it. Now I have to go home and pack my suitcase.
