Alliance Applauds the Passing of the Homes for Heroes Act
The legislation, which aims to improve housing services for very low income veterans, passed the House in a 417 – 2 vote

Washington, D.C. - Nan Roman, president of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, issued the following statement on the Homes for Heroes Act, which passed the House this afternoon:

“Today, the House took an important step in demonstrating the urgency of addressing homelessness among our nation’s veterans. Those who bravely stand in service of our country should never have to experience homelessness. The Homes for Heroes Act aims to provide housing assistance to very low income veterans by improving access to services, vouchers, and other vital resources.

This decisive vote is evidence that we are ready and willing to commit ourselves to supporting and protecting our veterans. Today, we can stand proudly behind our values and principles as we take a critical step toward preventing and ending homelessness for veterans in this country.”
