Alliance Seeking Applicants for Research Director

The Alliance is seeking a director for its research and education arm, the Homelessness Research Institute. The director will lead the research functions of the Alliance, as well as set the strategic direction for the Institute. Responsibilities include the conception, analysis, writing, and design of research products.

Job Description

Over the Labor Day weekend, the Alliance re-launched its website www.endhomelessness.org with a number of new features and navigation updates designed to improve the user experience and provide more detailed information about upcoming events.

The website remains under construction, so the Alliance staff would like to thank visitors for their patience as we iron out the disruptions and glitches that are inevitable in this type of transition. We ask that visitors update their bookmarks and subscriptions to ensure that they are linked to the right pages and getting the most up-to-date information. Users having trouble reaching the right page or experiencing other technical issue may want to try refreshing their cache.

Among the new features are drop-down navigation on the primary search menu and a new calendar feature with upcoming event details. Additionally, the Alliance blog will now be hosted on our website under News and Events.

On Thursday, August 30, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the availability of Continuum of Care registration in HUD's application and grants management system for its homeless programs.

HUD made the announcement for fiscal year 2012 in a published notice that provided collaborative applicants with an outline of the functions and requirements of the annual registration process in the system, which is called e-snaps. It also described changes that will occur as a result of the amendments to the McKinney-Vento Act under the HEARTH Act.

The deadline for registration is 7:59 and 59 seconds p.m. ET on Monday, October 1.
