On January 21, 2010, the Alliance hosted a Webinar on efforts to end family homelessness. Elaine deColigny and Katharine Gale of EveryOne Home Alameda discussed their efforts to end family homelessness in Alameda County, CA. The northern California community has made progress in reducing both family homelessness and chronic homelessness in recent years through broad adoption of a Housing First approach. The speakers provided an overview of their work to build a vision for ending homelessness in the county, the strategies they developed to reduce homelessness, and how they are using both Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) resources to create a comprehensive Housing First system. Unfortunately, the recording of the Webinar will not be available.
