The Alliance launched a summer and fall 2012 Site Visit Campaign to encourage Members of Congress to visit local McKinney-funded homelessness assistance programs across the country. The Campaign had two major goals:

• Raise awareness among the public and Congress about the issue of and solutions to homelessness; and
• Educate Congress on the need for increased resources for HUD's McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants and to ensure that it provides enough funding for all CoC renewals in fiscal year (FY) 2013.

On August 2, the Alliance hosted a webinar to launch the campaign. Presenters explained the various proposals for McKinney-Vento funding for FY 2013 from the Administration, the Senate, and the House; including an explanation of how the House's proposed funding level would not be enough to cover all renewals. In addition, presenters also covered the basics of planning and conducting a site visit, emphasizing their importance and impact. To view a recording of the webinar, please click here or view below:
