Encouraging representatives from the media to attend a site visit can give both your organization and the Member of Congress positive press attention. Send out a media advisory like the one below to let members of the media know the event is happening.

On (DATE OF SITE VISIT), U.S. (SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE X) will discuss efforts to prevent and end homelessness in (CITY) and will tour (PROGRAM NAME), which (PREVENTS AND/OR ENDS) homelessness for (VETERANS, FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN, AND/OR YOUTH) in our community.

The meeting will allow the (SENATOR’S/REPRESENTATIVE’S) constituents to brief (HIM/HER) on (POLICY ISSUE).
