Through a collaborative initiative between The City of Chattanooga and The Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition, “The Blueprint to End Chronic Homelessness in the Chattanooga Region in Ten Years” was developed. The Blueprint is a long-range, comprehensive plan and is a culmination of a seven-month planning effort by the Chattanooga region’s homeless service providers, government administrators, housing developers, community leaders and homeless people themselves. To accomplish an evolution of the homeless service system, four spheres of activity, each with its own recommended strategies and actions are outlined. These four spheres are: 1) Expand Permanent Housing Opportunities; 2) Increase Access to Services and Supports; 3) Prevent Homelessness; and 4) Develop a Mechanism for Planning and Coordination.
