  • Veteran homelessness decreased 10.3 percent from 2013 to 2014
  • Out of the 50 states and D.C., 30 states reported a decrease in veteran homelessness from 2013 to 2014
  • The national rate of homelessness veterans decreased from 27.3 people per 10,000 in 2013 to 25.5 people per 10,000 in 2014
  • Washington, D.C. had the highest rate of veteran homelessness at 145.8 homeless veterans per 10,000
  • 35.8 percent of the homeless veteran population was unsheltered in 2014
  • Virginia had the lowest rate of veteran homelessness at 9 veterans per 10,000
