In December of 2005, the Homeless Housing Plan Task Force published the “Ten-Year Plan to Reduce Homelessness in Chelan & Douglas Counties.” The Plan consists of 5 strategies, 6 short term activities, and 9 long-term activities, all to address the overarching goal of the ten-year plan: to reduce homelessness by 50 percent in Chelan and Douglas Counties. The Task Force identified the Homeless Services Needs of the area as housing affordability, prevention, mental health treatment, alcohol and drug abuse treatment, domestic violence case management, and farm worker housing.
