The Pierce County Coalition for the Homeless developed a ten year plan to end chronic homelessness with the assertion that ending chronic homelessness is a step towards ending overall homelessness in the county. Their plan, “The Road Home: Ending Chronic Homelessness -- A Ten Year Plan for Pierce County” has ten primary issues:

  3. Treatment and Services
  4. Systems
  5. Changing Public Perception
  6. Community Engagement
  7. Resource Allocation
  8. Employment and Education
  9. Policy
  10. Research
These ten issues serve as guidelines for their action steps to end chronic homelessness within Pierce County in ten years.
