On a single night in January 2015,
206,286 people in families experienced homelessness,
including young children.
Homelessness is traumatizing for a child and may impact them the rest of their lives. Children who experience homelessness fall behind their peers in health, education, and economic achievement. Being without a home is hard on their families, too, and makes it difficult for parents to stay employed, and sometimes even to hold the family together. No child should be without a home.
Will you help us make sure that no child goes homeless?
Join us as we raise awareness of family homelessness to get communities, states, and the Federal government to focus policy solutions and funding toward ending this crisis. As part of this campaign we are collecting images and stories that represent the things a child should be able to do, but can’t, because of their lack of permanent, stable housing. We are asking children across the country to draw a picture for the Alliance showing us what life is like at their homes. Below are three different coloring prompts to choose from. Feel free to submit just one or all three!

What should I include?
Please include the artist’s first name, age, city, and state.
Who can participate in this project?
We are accepting drawings from children of all ages from across the country.
How will these drawings be used?
Pictures will be used in Alliance marketing and communication materials about child and family homelessness. This includes, but is not limited to: fundraising materials, newsletters, videos, reports, and website use. By submitting a picture to the Alliance, you are giving the Alliance permission to use the picture for any marketing and communications needs.
