The Alliance will release its "State of Homelessness 2014," on Wednesday, May 28. The report, which will be available on the Alliance website, is the fourth in the series of annual reports examining national and state trends in homelessness. "State of Homelessness 2014" will cover trends in homelessness between 2012 and 2013, at-risk populations between 2011 and 2012, and the number of beds available for people experiencing homelessness in 2012 and 2013.

Booker will deliver a keynote address on Wednesday, July 30 at the luncheon plenary on the second day of the Alliance's 2014 National Conference on Ending Homelessness. The conference will take place at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel from July 29 to 31.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is proposing a new rule that would require that grantees under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program provide permanent housing assistance to eligible veteran families who would likely become homeless without it.

Early registration for the Alliance's 2014 National Conference on Ending Homelessness will close at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 13. At that time, the early registration rate of $500 per person will expire, and the registration fee will increase to the regular rate of $550. Online registration is scheduled to run to Monday, July 7, but may close early if the event reaches capacity.

The Alliance is proud to announce that United States Secretary for Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan will deliver a keynote address at the Alliance's 2014 National Conference on Ending Homelessness. Secretary Donovan is scheduled to deliver the keynote address on the second day of the conference, Wednesday, July 30.

Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan announced today that thousands of homeless housing programs across the country would receive a total of $1.6 billion in renewal grants through HUD's Continuum of Care Program. The funding renews support for a total of 7,100 programs that provide housing and support services to people and families experiencing homelessness

An analysis of 4,000 Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) around the country by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has found that, while 24 percent of all PHAs were attempting to serve people experiencing homelessness, the larger PHAs were more likely to make such efforts.

Today, the Obama administration released its complete fiscal year (FY) 2015 Budget Proposal, which includes approximately $2.4 billion for the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants, representing a proposed $300 million increase in funding for homeless assistance.
