Registration for the 2013 National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness may close early due to overwhelming response. With roughly 60 registration slots available for the conference taking place in Seattle, WA, at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel on Thursday, February 21 and Friday, February 22, the Alliance is encouraging everyone who plans to attend to register as soon as possible.

On Tuesday, January 1, Congress passed legislation that averted or postponed a majority of the provisions and events that make up the so-called "fiscal cliff." The bill, known as the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (HR 8), was signed into law by the President early Thursday morning.

On Monday, December 10, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released a report showing a 7.2 percent decline in the number of veterans experiencing homelessness between 2011 and 2012 , and a 19.3 percent decline in the number of persons experiencing chronic homelessness since 2007.
