Press Conference: The State of Homelessness in America 2013

April 9, 2013

The National Alliance to End Homelessness is proud to present The State of Homelessness in America 2013, a comprehensive report of the economic, demographic, and housing factors relating to homelessness in the United States.

Please join us for the press conference and official report release on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Zenger Room of the National Press Club (529 14th Street NW), as we present our findings. Among the attendees will be policymakers, congressional staff, members of national advocacy organizations, and members of the press.

This year’s report will serve as a national resource for homeless assistance providers, lawmakers, and the media. Along with national and state counts of homelessness, the report examines rates of severe housing cost burden, unemployment, poverty and rental vacancy, as well as a variety of demographic factors of homeless populations, including doubling up and safety net benefits.

During the event, Alliance President Nan Roman and Homeless Research Institute Director Samantha Batko will review the major findings of the report and their implications. Distinguished guest, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II (D – MO) will offer keynote remarks, and the Alliance’s Peer-to-Peer Leadership Council will provide a statement.

To RSVP for the press conference please email JGamble@naeh.org or call 202.942.8286. A copy of the full report will be available on the Alliance’s website on Tuesday April 9, 2013.
