Webinar: HUD’s Homelessness Programs: An Overview for Advocates and DV Professionals
January 29, 2013
Time: 2-3:30pm
This webinar training is designed for domestic violence advocates, attorneys, and transitional housing providers that are seeking a basic understanding of HUD’s homelessness programs.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) homelessness programs are critical in helping many domestic violence survivors escape unstable and dangerous housing situations. These programs fund a variety of resources needed by survivors, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, rental assistance, and supportive services. This session will provide an overview of these programs, including the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and Continuum of Care (CoC) programs.
TThe webinar is being offered in response to requests for more information regarding affordable housing options for domestic violence survivors and will cover frequently asked questions regarding the programs, including who is eligible for the programs; what type of assistance is available; how clients can apply; protections for clients in the programs; and helpful resources.
Webinar presenters include:
Samantha Batko, Program and Policy Analyst with the National Alliance to End Homelessness
Kimberly Walker, Capacity Building Associate with the National Alliance to End Homelessness
