In February, Congress passed a nearly $800 billion economic recovery package that included $1.5 billion for the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP). Click here to find contact information for the grantee in your area. On May 18, communities submitted plans to HUD for how they intend to use this funding. HUD is using the HOMELESSNESS RESOURCE EXCHANGE as a portal for distributing information and resources on HPRP.
Community preparations are well underway.
HUD has begun approving community plans, and agreements between grantees and subgrantees must be signed by September 30. Homeless assistance providers, local officials who administer ESG and homelessness funding and services, advocates, community-based agencies serving at-risk populations, and entities that administer the Continuum of Care should continue planning how they will utilize funding.

Creating a Plan for the Homelessness Prevention Fund
