The National Alliance to End Homelessness and the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty have launched a series of audio conferences around the $1.5 billion Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), which can fund prevention, diversion, and re-housing activities. On November 13, 2009 the Center on Capacity Building at the Alliance hosted a webinar on the implementation of the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) in rural areas. The webinar featured Kathy Germain from the Rural Ulster Preservation Group and Colleen Goettel from Gateway Community Industries. Ms. Germain discussed the design of the HPRP program in Ulster County, NY, while Ms. Goettel specifically addressed the challenges in data collection for rural areas.
